Ms. President

Dear Ms. President,

At first, I don't really care about you, although we always see each other at our church. You are our president and I am the auditor that's why I always see you but that's nothing for me. We are working together as normal. Without feelings, without anything except working at the church.

As days pass by, something is developing but I really don't know what it is. It's kinda weird like uhmmm, becoming nervous and shy when you're talking to me. Once I was scrolling down through my facebook account when suddenly I saw your profile picture. I was about to say in front of the monitor "How beautiful!" but my instinct stopped me on saying that because my sister was beside me and I know that she's kinds malicious.

One day, the church needed an assistant president and the elders and you wanted me to be the one. I was shocked because of the position and together with its responsibilities. It's hard but I need to try because you picked me to be your assistant because I know that you trust me. I became the assistant president, an assistant who is giving his 101% effort not just to do my work but to impress you because as the time runs when I am with you, day by day, I realized that I have a crush on you.

When it was my birthday, last October 2, you asked me to treat you right? There are no regrets on my side for doing that because we had a time together that night. On every bite of you on that hamburger that you asked me to treat to you, I can feel your happiness. Your smiles are like the shining crescent moon above us. Your laughs that night were like love songs hugging my ears. I cannot explain the joy I felt in that 30 minutes and I feel like I don't want the time to move.

Ms. President, do you remember when we had a meeting at New Era in Dasma? Do you remember the time when you were sleepy? You leaned your head on my shoulder right? Hahahaha, well of course you do remember that, because that was only 2 days ago. When you suddenly slept on my shoulder, you made my heart beat as fast as it could. I can't imaging that it was true. I said in my mind "Am I living inside a fairytale book?". Your hair smells like roses swaying together with the flow of the wind. I won't forget that.

When I was about to sleep last night, I remembered what you said to me when we were doing our work at the church. "Lilipat na ako ng Manila. Hindi ako sure pero baka magtransfer na ako dun."- those are exactly your words and an awkward silence happened after you said that. "Nagbibiro ka lang di ba? Hindi ko kayang maging Presidente kung wala ka. Di pa ako handang gampanan yung mga ginagampanan mo ngayun." is what I replied to you but it's not about the responsibilities that I will take, it's about the times together with you that I might miss. I don't know what to say that time so, I just went out of our office and went home straight. Until now, it is unpredictable if you will leave or not. But please don't leave me alone. I want to work with you.

Before you decide, please think about the people who might miss you. Specially me. Ms. President, Angezel Gregorio, please think.

Your assistant president,

Russel

Shapers and Molders of Our Future

When someone heard the word "HERO", the first idea that they imagine are the heroes that can be seen on televisions such as Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Ironman, and many more. If we will think deeper, there more heroes better than them. They do exist but they're unnoticeable to others. They are the TEACHERS.

Teachers are said to be our second parents in our second home. I guess that's true. But once again, some students are in a misconception that they are just person, paid by the government, obliged to teach lessons. They do not know the true heart of teaching and the real purpose of teachers. Yes, they really give abundant of assignments and projects but these things are not for them, still, these are for us. They're just enhancing what are on us and getting us ready for facing problems on the real world of life. We sometimes experience being scolded by our ma'ams and sirs, but do not feel bad about that because in every words they shout to us, love is always there. They're just trying to develop the discipline hidden in our personality. Our future is hard to plan, our goal may be hard to achieve, and our dream may be difficult to obtain, but at our back, there, our teachers stand pushing us against to the finish line by helping us shape and mold our future.

A day was made exclusively for teachers, October 5. For us students to pay all the things that they had done to us. We all know that a single day is not enough but our goal here is to show how we love you, our TEACHERS and how we appreciated your hardships. All I can say is everyday is STUDENT's DAY so, students around there, don't complaint. Just stand straight and shout "HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY" :D

Choices of Life

To be or not to be: that is the question
Leaving grief to others for position
Sending King Hamlet to death
Without thinking his son Hamlet

Immeasurable thirst for power
It may result to heartless murder
That creates the uncontrollable revenge
And the madness to avenge

But always remember
It is not really the answer
'Cuz it is a disguised trouble maker
The real enemy of every character

Just love and love
Set free the white dove
Bring peace to the enemy
And you'll receive the victory

Confusingly Funny, The Comedy of Errors

Confusion plus humorous equals Comedy of Errors! Wrinkled for head together with my confused mind is my expression while listening to that kind of composition with secret ingredients of confusion and comedy like sweet and spicy. Who told you that errors cannot be a source of laughter? Well, Comedy of Errors proves that you're wrong!

An expert writer, Shakespeare, made my mind upside down with his incredible and extraordinary composition. Two pair of twins, partnered with confusion, are the main characters of the story. Their identical faces are the root of all the troubles via errors. Shortest but the funniest for me.
16, 258 words that contain nothing but an almost perfect composition.

Before the discussion of the presenters, excitement surrounds me and my classmates because we will be introduced to a new dimension of Shakespeare's awesome world but as the discussion passes by, the excitement diminishes not because it is boring but because we are confused. I felt sleepy and I don't want to listen anymore due to the confusion that builds up on me. The dizziness of mine was broken when the I understand the flow of the story explained by our teacher. The blood flowing through my veins was awaken, my wrinkled forehead was gone, and my closed ears suddenly opens as the interest to the story invades my boredom. I kept on laughing and laughing on the mistakes created by the characters resulting into a bigger trouble. It is obvious that the characters are talking to each other seriously but the twist is that, they're talking to a wrong person creating confusion in each characters. Their stupidity made it alive. Some thought that Antipholus of Ephesus is Antipholus of Syracuse or vice versa and some thought that Dromio of Ephesus is Dromio of Syracuse or vice versa too. Sounds confusing right? Though it is, if you can understand the flow, you'll realize that it is not that confusing and boring!

The ingredients of this Shakespearean story is not just comedy. Of course we will find out that there is a certain message and lesson hidden in every Shakespearean compositions. I guess this time, the lesson is: "Small mistakes may lead into bigger troubles", which is mainly correct. Well as far as I know, for me, this is the story that entertained me the most! The laughter it left to me and also the lesson it taught to me.

NCAE: First Step Through Dreams

This is my third year life. The life which is near to the real world. Real world that is full of struggles in life that is why we are here to train and be ready for that time to come. NCAE, the first step through dreams. A simple test but full of uses that we may use when we grow up.

Many says that NCAE is useless, waste of time, and a source of boredom. I guess they're the one talking useless things. Can't they realize the real use of this exam? The real objective of it is to help us in the decisions on what course we are going to take up on college.

During the test, I can't hide the feeling that I am bored but still there's a percentage on my brain telling me that it is for me, it is for my own good, it is for my future. "I must take this seriously" is the sentence running in my mind. After the test, I felt very satisfied, and I felt like I am complete! Maybe because I already know the job that I will get in the future. I am always thinking on what job that I must got into, every night, everyday. Although it is the first step, it still helps me on having a clear mind and to pursue on my goal. We may not guess what God will plan to us on our career but atleast we know that we are on the right track, on our own interest. Just follow what job our heart wants and we will be successful. Thanks to Mr. NCAE!

Sports Are Not Just Game To Play But Also Lessons

Sports, what is it for a student? When a student heard the word "Intramurals", its twin is happiness to all of us. Smiling face and excitement can be pictured in each of ones faces. Maybe the reason are: there will be no classes and this is the season of battling and showing your great abilities in every sports.

In a studious student, studying is not the only thing that he must do in the whole school year. Of course, stretching your muscles and bending the bones is also essential for a student. On intrams, we are free to play and we are free on pressures. Sometimes, in order to study well, joy is needed that's why Intramurals in every school were created, am I right? From the movie 3 Idiots, a university is not a pressure cooker, it is a university!

Intramurals is important to us not only for the relief on the pressure but also for the exercise it gives that makes us healthier. Determination will be develop also. Although we fall, we can always stand and fight for your team, for a triumph, for the win, for the trophy! We learn how to represent a team. Building leadership can be seen also during every game. Leaders uses tactics, techniques and strategies in order to overcome the obstacles that block them through the victory. Thinking critically was used in every game.

But of course, the most important in every game we play is the sportsmanship and friendship that we can develop in our hearts. Be a humble winner and a happy loser. Instead of accepting defeat negatively, we must accept it as a recommendation for us to do our best next time and to challenge ourselves. For me, Intramurals is the heart of every school year.

Mother Tongue is First in Line!

It is not new to us the battle between the use of our Mother Tongue and the use of Foreign Languages. I know that you know Dr. Jose Rizal's quotation; "Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika, ay mas mabaho pa kaysa sa malansang isda." tells us that we must love our own language but still it was said that we must use English when teaching at the schools. I really don't know if this is right or wrong. Still, it is on our own opinion.

Based on facts, there are pure Filipinos who don't know how to speak our language because English was first introduced to them by their parents. Even when I am just walking in the mall, I can hear children who use English instead of Tagalog while speaking to their mother. I know when some of you hear a Filipino child about 3-4 years of age speaking in English, you think that he or she is smart, and rich. I don't feel the same when I hear a child like that. If a child speaks in English, he or she is rich and smart already? How about a child speaking in Tagalog? Of course you won't think that he or she is smart and rich. All I can see through this thinking is racism and discrimination! Isn't it unfair? Do you accept that you are more pungent than a fish?

I know that using foreign languages isn't bad, not at all. But still, mastery of our Mother Tongue must be the first in line instead of the Fluency of Foreign Languages. We must learn how to use Tagalog first and master it before introducing new language to our tongue. Isn't it awful if we are Pinoy and Pinay but we cannot use our language fluently? Come to think of it, we must not be an alien to our language? It is like an Earthling living on Mars! I am not against using other language but please, the percentage of the knowledge in our language must be larger than any other languages. I don't want to see Philippines, with Pinoy and Pinay living with foreign languages and our Mother Tongue is deeply buried in the wilderness.
