Typhoons: Students Want It? Think Again

"Typhoon, please cancel our classes!

So that our hearts will be filled with happiness"

Is the line I heard coming from them

Hey! Students, please think again

Typhoon is an encouraging friend

For a very slothful student

But typhoons are enemies

To some poor families


It destroys properties, it kills people
and damages crops like a raging sickle
It is very destructive, yes it is
It creates tragedy on different communities


Please, let us think again
And we'll realize what may happen
This is not a poem for protest
It is a poem for us to think the best

God Gave It, Now We Defiled It, We Must Recreate It

"
The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine; with me you are but aliens and tenants through out the land that you hold, you shall provide for the redemption for the land." (Leviticus 25:23-24)"The Lord took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work for it and take care of it." (Genesis 2:15)


These are the simple sentences yet they contain the hardest task that God commanded us to do. Hardest, why hardest? Come to take a look of our surroundings and you will see why it is the hardest. Continuous destruction, depletion, demolition of our nature are what I can see on this world, this world given to us by God. We are commanded to take care and preserve this former paradise but are we doing now?


"I brought you into a plentiful land to eat its fruits and it good things. But when you entered, you defiled my land and made my heritage an abomination." (Jeremiah 2:7)
In this verse, God gave this world to take advantage but what we are doing is too much and now, God is scolding us and He's trying to show in front of us the mess that we did on His heritage. This is tolerable and we must start working now! But in this state, are there still ways to replenish the pain that we made on this paradise?


We all know that nature can be our friend but can be our enemy also only if we will defile it. Nature can revenge against us if we will harm it like flash floods, landslides, tsunami and many more that can destroy many lives of nature-destructing humans. In order to preserve our friendship with nature, we must preserve it too! We must be responsible on taking care of it. We still have hope to build up the lost friendship. There are still virgin lands, untouched mountains, remote and beautiful sites that are not yet touched by our ruinous and filthy hands, and we must prevent the state that our Mother Earth already has no places on her surface that are clean and virgin. And I know that all of us don't want to end this world because of our works of destruction, right? Global warming, acid rain, all kinds of pollution, ozone depletion are just some of the results of our work that we need to clean up. If we will ask some students the question "What can you do to conserve our nature?", 80% to 100% will answer "We can plant trees". That answer is correct but the problem is, can they do it? Can they promise us that they will do such things? Of course not. Solutions to our problem in nature can be not complicated instead they can be simple, simple as putting trashes on your pockets for a while, lessening the use of paper in our school, segregating wastes and even by just telling your father to use unleaded gasoline to supply fuel on his car, of course our father cannot resist our requests.


"♪Cause life's a constant change, and nothing stays the same, oh no.♪" said by Jose Mari Chan on his song. I believe that nothing on this world that don't undergo changes. Our Earth was changed from a paradise into a smoky mountain and I hope we can change it again from smoky mountain into a paradise again.

Comedy Ending Than Tragedy Ending? Much Better!

I am tired of tragedy endings, "and they live happily ever after" endings. Why don't we put a twist on the ending? How about the funny ending!? Well let's try my own version of Romeo and Juliet's ending. =D


It is Paris and Juliet's wedding day. This poor Juliet is still thinking on how she can go out of this problem because she doesn't want to engage this love Paris of her. This also poor Paris, thinking on how he can tell this poor Juliet about his own secret that he cannot tell to anyone for a long period of time. While this rushing Romeo towards the wedding site, is trying to prevent the wedding. Paris' completely distorted mind finally commanded him to went to Juliet's room together with his heart that cannot wait to tell his secret to Juliet. Juliet was surprised on the arrival of Paris to her room because Paris must be preparing for their wedding at this time.


This secret, the mysterious secret kept inside Paris like the Yamashita treasure, was unknown for long years, from his childhood upto now. At this age of Paris, I guess he must tell the truth to Juliet because if he did not tell it to Juliet, all of this wedding will be false. "What are you doing here? You should be prepared for our wedding?" Juliet said. "There is something that bothers me. There is something that I should tell you." he answered. "What is it my future husband?" Juliet replied. "I...I...I am... uhhh... I don't love you Juliet." he answered again. This Juliet with a pinch of happiness on her heart because the wedding might be cancelled, still became curious on Paris' answer. "But... but why? What's the reason behind it?" she asked. "I am treasuring this secret for a long period of time. I don't want others to know this but you. I don't want you Juliet because the one I love is a boy and not a girl like you!" he shouted. Juliet was shocked about his answer or should I say her answer? "Are you serious! Hahahah. I can't stop laughing! Then this wedding will be non-sense!" she answered while laughing. This Romeo who heard all the things that Paris said, can't stop laughing behind Juliet's door and because he can't stop laughing, he fell and bumped on the door opening it. The two, Paris and Juliet, were astonished on what they saw. When they saw this laughing Romeo, they had a plan on how to cancel the wedding by a false tragedy. "You, Romeo! You already know the truth so come here and let's formulate the plan because I don't want to marry this Juliet of yours. You two will sneak out of this wedding event and go to the very far land of Mantua and there you must live happily." Paris said. "But, they will surely interrogate you where Juliet is." Romeo asked. "Don't worry, I have this vial that Friar Lawrence gave to Juliet." He answered. "Hey Paris! Where did you get that!" Juliet interrogate Paris. "Oh this vial? I know all your plans, hahaha! You will drink this to cancel the wedding of us right? But it is me who will drink this vial while you two are escaping from this hell. They will surely mistaken that I am dead and if I am already dead, they can't ask questions to me anymore!" Paris stated the plan. "Your plan is wonderful! We should go now Paris, the servants will come here sooner!" Romeo said. "Ok ok, escape here immediately!". The couple, Romeo and Juliet, escaped the wedding site freely and this Paris drank the vial making him uhhhmmm... her false dead. The servants saw Paris lying down, false dead. The feuding families found out that their son and daughter were lost and cannot be found anywhere. Because of that incident, they decided to forget about their problem to each other and helped together on looking for their son and daughter. This poor Paris without knowing the consequences of what he did, was buried inside the tomb. After two days, Paris is finally awake, awake inside his tomb. He was shocked when he realized that he was in a tomb without any tools on how to get out of it. While the couples are having fun together at Mantua, Paris is in a grief alone inside his tomb. He shouted and shouted asking for help but no one can hear him. He was trapped inside the tomb for several days.


The Capulets and Montagues finally found Romeo and Juliet at the far far away land of Mantua. The two family told the couple on what happened to Paris. They said that Paris was already buried.  Romeo and Juliet was worried about Paris and because of this, they already tell the Capulets and Montagues about the plan they made. They rushed to the tomb of Paris at Verona and opened the tomb hoping that Paris is still alive. When the tomb was opened, there they saw Paris sitting in pain, hunger and sadness. The couple immediately hugged Paris for the sacrifice he made just for the two. They head to the palace and there, Paris was fed with the most delicious foods and drinks.


After all the failed plan of Paris, all is happy, all is better now. His plan did not work for him, but it worked for the feuding families and for the couple.


This ending of mine is the comedy version resulting to happy ending! I hope you enjoyed it.

Romeo and Juliet of My Own Imagination

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, an English tragedy, a story with a sad ending. I already expected that the ending will be sorrowful. Death of lovers is what awaits at the tip of the long story. Although I do expected the ending, I wasn't satisfied by the twisted ending of the story which is different from Disney-like fairy tales that usually have a "once upon a time" upto "and the live happily ever after". Romeo and Juliet has "once upon a time" upto "and they died sadly ever after". I guess, William Shakespeare expressed the song title "Too Much Love Will Kill You" by Jovit Baldovino. And a question, Do somebody should die because of love? If love kills, then it is not love. Love should not be a murderer, instead, it should be inspiring not depressing. Because of these reasons, I would rather change the extraordinary ending of Romeo and Juliet into a happy ending.


Act V, Scene III, is actually full of bloody actions where many characters died and the root of their death is usually hatred except to Romeo and Juliet. The tragedy begun when Friar John wasn't able to give the letter of Friar Lawrence to Romeo. In result, this poor Romeo didn't know that his beloved wife is still alive, and all he know is that, Juliet is just sleeping like a beautiful and lively-colored monarch. Misconceptions is the cause why Romeo took the poison he bought at the poor pharmacist. This vial killed him as fast as an eye-blink. When Juliet awoke, she found her beloved Romeo who looks pale and dead. She tried to get poison from his lips but it has no effect, so she used Romeo's dagger and stabbed her own breast and died. Very sad right? We all know that.


At this part of this blog post, I will let you ride my horse for the journey to the home-made ending of Romeo and Juliet, in other words, my own ending. Let's erase tragedy. I want the letter to be received by Romeo so that there will be lesser stress. Romeo and Paris will meet at the tomb, still having a duel with each other but instead of a sword fight, they just had a deal, a man to man deal. Their deal will go like this: The first one who will make the Capulet and Montague to be well together, will win the heart of Juliet. After dealing, of course Juliet will be awake and they will tell her their deal and Juliet will approve the deal. Then one sunny morning, the Capulet and Montague is having their fight because the two pet horses of the Capulet were killed by one of the servant of Montague because the horses were found at Montague's lawn eating the well-cared grasses. The two quarreling sides unsheathed their swords. Their forces of anger lies through their steely swords,  exchange of stabs, slashes and pain. Luckily, Romeo, who is having a morning walk thinking of the way on how to make the feuding families get well-together, saw the Capulet and Montague fighting.  He immediately head between the two trying to stop them. He said "Stop! Look at yourselves. You both were covered in blood made by hatred and misunderstanding! Are you willing to die for just a grass destroyed? For just the horses died? You will die without swallowing your pride and dignity, leaving the people you love in the problem you made! Hatred will just kill you if you will live with it forever! Let hatred be replaced by love! Love can answer anything, can solve anything, so why don't you love each other just like bestfriends?" The Capulet and Montague will look at their selves and to each other. They both thinking of their relatives' safety and rights like the forbidden love of Romeo and Juliet. Suddenly, tears fall, pride were swallowed, and hatred were buried. They hug each other and sealed their fight with a handshake. Romeo did not realize that he made the trouble of the two side end. Paris appeared behind Romeo tapping his shoulder as a sign of congratulations. Paris accepted hes defeat as a true man and a true lover of Juliet. That day, they plan to have a feast together, simultaneously with the wedding of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet had a son and his Ninong be Paris and the live happily ever after. The END


Now, tell me, isn't it more beautiful if all the characters are happy? It is the ending I want. Really happy no tragedy. Love can conquer anything even the hardest problem like the trouble between Capulet and Montague. The normal ending is also good, but it is better to have good ending.
