Romeo and Juliet of My Own Imagination

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, an English tragedy, a story with a sad ending. I already expected that the ending will be sorrowful. Death of lovers is what awaits at the tip of the long story. Although I do expected the ending, I wasn't satisfied by the twisted ending of the story which is different from Disney-like fairy tales that usually have a "once upon a time" upto "and the live happily ever after". Romeo and Juliet has "once upon a time" upto "and they died sadly ever after". I guess, William Shakespeare expressed the song title "Too Much Love Will Kill You" by Jovit Baldovino. And a question, Do somebody should die because of love? If love kills, then it is not love. Love should not be a murderer, instead, it should be inspiring not depressing. Because of these reasons, I would rather change the extraordinary ending of Romeo and Juliet into a happy ending.


Act V, Scene III, is actually full of bloody actions where many characters died and the root of their death is usually hatred except to Romeo and Juliet. The tragedy begun when Friar John wasn't able to give the letter of Friar Lawrence to Romeo. In result, this poor Romeo didn't know that his beloved wife is still alive, and all he know is that, Juliet is just sleeping like a beautiful and lively-colored monarch. Misconceptions is the cause why Romeo took the poison he bought at the poor pharmacist. This vial killed him as fast as an eye-blink. When Juliet awoke, she found her beloved Romeo who looks pale and dead. She tried to get poison from his lips but it has no effect, so she used Romeo's dagger and stabbed her own breast and died. Very sad right? We all know that.


At this part of this blog post, I will let you ride my horse for the journey to the home-made ending of Romeo and Juliet, in other words, my own ending. Let's erase tragedy. I want the letter to be received by Romeo so that there will be lesser stress. Romeo and Paris will meet at the tomb, still having a duel with each other but instead of a sword fight, they just had a deal, a man to man deal. Their deal will go like this: The first one who will make the Capulet and Montague to be well together, will win the heart of Juliet. After dealing, of course Juliet will be awake and they will tell her their deal and Juliet will approve the deal. Then one sunny morning, the Capulet and Montague is having their fight because the two pet horses of the Capulet were killed by one of the servant of Montague because the horses were found at Montague's lawn eating the well-cared grasses. The two quarreling sides unsheathed their swords. Their forces of anger lies through their steely swords,  exchange of stabs, slashes and pain. Luckily, Romeo, who is having a morning walk thinking of the way on how to make the feuding families get well-together, saw the Capulet and Montague fighting.  He immediately head between the two trying to stop them. He said "Stop! Look at yourselves. You both were covered in blood made by hatred and misunderstanding! Are you willing to die for just a grass destroyed? For just the horses died? You will die without swallowing your pride and dignity, leaving the people you love in the problem you made! Hatred will just kill you if you will live with it forever! Let hatred be replaced by love! Love can answer anything, can solve anything, so why don't you love each other just like bestfriends?" The Capulet and Montague will look at their selves and to each other. They both thinking of their relatives' safety and rights like the forbidden love of Romeo and Juliet. Suddenly, tears fall, pride were swallowed, and hatred were buried. They hug each other and sealed their fight with a handshake. Romeo did not realize that he made the trouble of the two side end. Paris appeared behind Romeo tapping his shoulder as a sign of congratulations. Paris accepted hes defeat as a true man and a true lover of Juliet. That day, they plan to have a feast together, simultaneously with the wedding of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet had a son and his Ninong be Paris and the live happily ever after. The END


Now, tell me, isn't it more beautiful if all the characters are happy? It is the ending I want. Really happy no tragedy. Love can conquer anything even the hardest problem like the trouble between Capulet and Montague. The normal ending is also good, but it is better to have good ending.
